3. INTRODUCTION :
⮚ NEWSLETTER is a bulletin issued periodically to the member of society , business or
organization ( Hospitals).
⮚ It is well known that majority of hospital in the USA lacks good method of disseminating the
interdepartmental information that usually prototype viz., bulletins , memoranda board notices &
committee meetings.
⮚ In many cases this form of communication is adequate enough even though it is limited to its
scope.
⮚ Newspapers & leaflets are type of newsletters.
⮚ Newsletters offer a valuable information , they should be short & to the point.
⮚ An enormous amount of time is spent by pharmacists in preparing newsletters but their
effectiveness with respect to the above two purposes may vary from hospital to hospital.

These newsletters usually include updates about the organization, new services or procedures, event
promotions, and helpful health tips.
The 2 main aims of newsletter are :

• The editorial should be prepared by the chief pharmacist or other members the of Pharmacy & therapeutic committee.
EDITORIAL
• This selection should contain the major data on each drug accepted for use in hospitals by PTC.
• For example, it should contain a brief description on
• -useful indications, side effects, administration, dosage Etc.
NEW DRUG SELECTION
• It keeps the entire staff aware of change in therapeutics within the hospital (NDDS etc.)
ABSTRACTS OF THE MEETINGS OF THE PTC
• These articles should not be lengthy.
• Should be restricted to current pharmaceuticals topic of current interest of staffs.
LEADING ARTICLES
• This portion may include anything with the editor field of interest to medicine.
