The document discusses different types of O-rings including Buna, EPDM, and silicone O-rings. Buna O-rings are made of nitrile rubber and are resistant to water, oils, and fuels but not chemicals, sunlight or UV light. EPDM O-rings offer chemical and steam resistance, particularly for solvents, acids and mild chemicals. The document also mentions O-ring kits containing common sizes of Buna, fluorocarbon, and silicone O-rings.

FEP Encapsulated O-rings
1. Buna O-Rings
An O-ring is a solid-rubber seal shaped
like a doughnut or torus. When
compressed between mating surfaces, O-
ring blocks the passage of liquids or
gases. O-rings are available in a wide
range of standard and custom sizes that
are suitable for nearly all sealing
applications.
We, at AS&P focus on long-term
relationships based on trust, honesty, and communication. Whether you need specialized
custom O-Ring seals or off-the-shelf standard O-Ring seals, we have them all at great
prices.
Buna O-Rings Description
Buna O-Rings also referred to as NBR O-Rings and Nitrile O-Rings are the most widely
used O-Ring materials in the world because of its low cost & good mechanical performance
along with excellent resistance to water, most basic oils, lubricants, and some fuels. Its
versatility makes it an ideal material for O-Rings, seals, gaskets, and custom molded
components for all industries and applications. Buna O-Rings are not recommended for
exposure to sunlight, UV light, ozone and general outdoor weathering or harsh chemicals,
acids, ketones, and many others.
Nitrile is unique among synthetic rubbers in that it is generally resistant to chemicals such
as oil and fuel, among other substances such as mineral and vegetable oils, diluted acids,
and alkaline substances. Buna-Nitrile is less likely to cause allergic reactions than latex or
natural rubber materials, making it popular for medical and dental applications. Nitrile also
exhibits greater strength and puncture resistance than latex and natural rubber.
EPDM O-RINGS
EPDM O-RINGS DESCRIPTION:
2. An O-ring is also known as a packing or toric joint and is a mechanical gasket shaped like a
doughnut. When compressed between connecting surfaces, O-ring blocks the entry and exit of liquids
or gases. EPDM O-rings are a family of synthetic elastomers that offer low-cost steam and chemical
resistance, particularly in areas of applications that entail the use of solvents, acids, and other mild
chemicals. At AS&P, we have a wide variety of EPDM O-rings and custom EPDM O-rings
manufactured as per your specifications. This way, we can ensure that the EPDM o-rings that you
need are always made available to you. Whether it’s for water systems, braking systems, medical,
pharmaceutical, food or dairy use, you can rely on us to deliver high-quality O-rings to you quickly.
EPDM rubber (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is an elastomer which is characterized by a wide
range of applications. EPDM exhibits satisfactory compatibility with fireproof hydraulic fluids,
ketones, hot and cold water, and alkalis, and unsatisfactory compatibility with most oils, gasoline,
kerosene, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents and concentrated acids.
