The project goal is to make a van tracking application, which tracks the vans carrying students from home to schools and back. The proper tracking of vans and the notifications to parents on leaving and arrival of vans from home and school is another metric to ensure the monitoring of kids.

2. Introduction to Pin-Point
•A van tracking mobile app for surveillance of kids.
•A source for school administration to keep track of their transportation and parents to keep track of their
kid.
• This mobile app keeps tracks of the speed of van, the path it takes, the estimated time for arrival to and
from house and school.
•This app allows parents to give their feedbacks and suggestions to school administration about their
transportation service or on any other aspect.

3. Revolution of Idea
•First we decided to use this idea on IBA transportation service but this raises some concern of privacy and
security related issues.
•The target audience of IBA is mostly adults so they do not need that much surveillance.
•So we decided to use this on School Van for kids to make this app more applicable and helpful to the target
audience.
•Our target audience is 5-12 years school kids.
•Main concern of parents is the safety of their child so giving them access to their kids van is extremely
helpful for them.
•Thus our idea become more helpful and applicable.

4. Motivation
The motivation for this idea comes up from the survey we take from the parents
from which it reveals on us that most parents need this app and that most schools
are not giving any type of tracks of the vans. We conducted a survey and approx.
98 % repondents want this type of
mobile app with the accompanying
features.

5. About Pin-Point
•Pin-Point is a native mobile app which works on live tracking of school vans.
•A running server with dynamic control and tracking of location on maps and the
different features which is provided to make the parents use the app more easily.
•A connected database to store information about parents, the kids, the drivers, the
van, the routes, the speed and the track of the van with suggestions and
complaints to the school administration.

6. Our Fix
To get over this problem about safety of kids to parents and for school admin about their students and transportation.
Following are the thing we proposed to fix the concerned problems for both parties:
1. Live tracking of van
2. Track taken by van driver during travel
3. Speed of van
4. Notification if the driver is rash driving
5. Notification of arrival and departure of van from school and home to parents and school administration.
6. Estimated time of arrival and departure of van
7. Suggestions or Complaints of driver or on transportation system by parents to school administration.
