What is Schizophrenia?
A chronic and severe mental disorder that affects
how a person feels, thinks, and behaves.
Usually start between ages 16 and 30, children
rarely have schizophrenia.
Not split personality or multiple personality.
Causes are unclear.

Sign and Symptoms
Three categories of symptoms: positive, negative
and cognitive.
Positive symptoms include delusions,
hallucinations, disorganized behavior and thinking
and speech
Negative symptoms include social withdrawal,
extreme apathy, lack initiative and emotional
flatness
Cognitive symptoms include poor executive
functioning, trouble focusing and problems with
working memory
