DUBAI DECLARATION
The Dubai Declaration is a strategic commitment to develop Dubai as “The International Capital
of the Green Economy”, through international collaboration, the development of innovative green
financing mechanisms and the showcasing of green projects through the Public-Private Partnership
Platform and the Green Economy Marketplace Platform. Dubai is committed to developing WGES
as a key platform for green business in the region, and the Declarations made at WGES since 2014
will be implemented in the lead up to 2020/2021.
THE PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP
PLATFORM (PPP PLATFORM)
Achieving the ambitious goals set by the recent Paris Climate Agreement requires scaling initiatives
and developing large projects, by using a partnership approach. The Public-Private Partnership
Platform is a unique networking and matchmaking mechanism for governments, regions, cities,
utilities, integrators, solution providers and financiers, looking to engage in the green economy.
During WGES 2016, the PPP Platform will take physical form, where it will be present across the
different themes, and will also have exclusive spaces and workshops for specialised discussions.
This way, new Partnerships will build on past examples of successful cooperation between our
diverse stakeholders. The Platform is driven through the establishment of strong Global Partner-
ships with leading international organisations providing real project opportunities.
