5. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
• This course provides the students with
knowledge and understanding of the different
activities in physical fitness and gymnastic
programs comprising the different components
such as power, organic vigor, endurance,
strength, flexibility, speed, balance and
desirable values from this course.

• Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the VMGO and BU
quality policy and the class rules and requirements
• Demonstrate deep understanding on the meaning and importance of
physical education to support life-long learning.
• Demonstrate awareness on the objectives of physical education that
contributes to the holistic development an individual.
• Exhibit different bodily movement through rhythmic movement with
an accompaniment. Perform correct body movements during
exercise.

gymnastics program to perform variety of work.

8. COURSE INTRODUCTION
• The demands of work in today’s generation require physical strength,
mental ability, and character. Physical Education is a core subject that
fuels the body, mind, and soul of individuals to become best at work and
globally competitive. Also, it helps in the development of personhood
holistically through physical activities of many kinds.
• Physical Education 11 – Physical Fitness and Gymnastics will be a
springboard of your effort to become healthy and promote wellness outside
the boundaries. It contains activities best designed for you that you will
enjoy and integrate to variety of work. This material includes information,
guidelines and requirements to comply to finish the course successfully.
9. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The main goal of this course is to introduce you to the concepts of Physical Fitness
and Gymnastics. Specifically, after finishing this course, you should be able to:
• a. Illustrate and explain the meaning and importance of Physical Education;
• b. Demonstrate understanding on the phases of the exercise program, principles of
exercise and the benefits of exercise;
• c. Demonstrate understanding on the concept of different principle of exercise;
• d. Demonstrate understanding on the history and phases of gymnastics;
• e. Appreciate gymnastics through the acquire knowledge on the history of the
sport; and
• f. Describe the role of gymnastics in the development of one’s physical fitness
10. TARGET LEARNERS AND PREREQUISITES
• As stated in the course introduction, the target
learners of this course are 1st year students
taking up PE 11 Physical Fitness and Gymnastics
. Before taking this course, you are expected to
possess strong knowledge in the given topics,
participate in the online discussions, forums,
activities and submit the needed requirements to
complete this course.

• For this semester, the University identified three (3)
types of learners, namely: students with
• Good internet access (able to participate in
synchronous activity);
• Poor to fair internet access (able to participate in
asynchronous activities only); and
• No internet connection

14. COURSE REQUIREMENT/ ASSESSMENT
ACTIVITIES
• Outputs, Written and Practical Examinations are all graded and will be used to assess the
students.
• Outputs includes the first activity given to the students during week 2 after discussion and also
the E Portfolio to be submitted during Midterm and Final Week that contains their journal,
documentation and progress on their weight.
• There are Written and Practical Examination which will be done every after the discussion of
the topic that are intended to test whether they gained knowledge or not. This will also serve as
how the students understand and apply each topic discussed during practicums.
• Another Written and Practical Examination will be done per term (MIDTERM and FINAL
EXAMINATION). This is scheduled and details will be given a week before the Examination
Week.
• Rubrics for the Practical Examination to evaluate the performance and output will also be
available to the given course site
15. GRADING SYSTEM
Students performance will be evaluated based on the following
criteria below:
• Midterm Grade = Chapter Exams (45%) + Midterm Exam (35%) +
Class Participation (20%)
• Tentative Grade = Chapter Exams (45%) + Final Exam (35%) +
Class Participation (20%)
• Final Grade = Midterm Grade (30%) + Tentative Grade (70%)+

• Educational and Learning Resources will be
provided during the duration of the semester
and will be sent through Course site, Email,
Google Classroom or Facebook Messenger.
However since we have 3 types of students,
those with poor internet connection and has no
access may inform the professor ahead of time
for other options.

18. OTHER GUIDELINES / NETIQUETTE
• Always remember that this is not about learning but what matter is how we treat
each other. We need to respect each other as how we wanted to be respected and
lastly let us be ONE.
• We need to respect the Class rules.
• We all deserve respect. Any act of bullying or something that may interrupt class
discussion or online forums is not acceptable.
• All are expected to be active in activities such as Practical exams.
• Everyone must have progress with their weight from the start of the semester up yo
the end.
• Inform immediately the professor if you encounter problems regarding the modules,
internet connection and other learning materials.
