Language is a tool and guide that allows individuals to communicate through verbal or nonverbal communication. Language is interpreted differently
throughout the world and differs for many different sociocultural backgrounds and allows individuals to express themselves. Language can be both
an 'object' to be analysed and a social process through the individual's experiences and the discourse that differs for each person. Language is an
object to be analysed through the many tools that create language and literacy and how these are used throughout societal backgrounds and
communities. Language is also a social process in which we as humans use to communicate and to express emotion and feeling towards each other.
Language and literacy is an individual interpretation that differs for individuals based on each person's sociocultural background, education and social
interactions. This essay will explore how language is both an object to be analysed and a social process.
Language is an object to be analysed through the different tools and techniques that make up language. These components include the formality of the
language, the tone in which it is being used, facial expressions, gestures and body language. These components of language assist in communicating
with another individual or through non–verbal communication online or written. The formality of the language speaks largely to the vocabulary chosen

The communication within my relationship with my father has become an issue over the many years. I would label this relationship as an passive
aggressive relationship, where feelings or thoughts are never really discussed but are displayed by anger or nothing at all. My dad and I have a history
of nonverbal communication. In my opinion my dad seems to think everything he says and does is right but, from my perspective it seems to me
like he just can't grasp the fact that he's not right all the time. I feel as though he wants to control everyone and it negatively impacts the the people
in his life. How my dad communicates is an big issue in my family and within this project I want to improve the way I communicate with my father
in order to allow him to see that the way he communicates is unacceptable. I want to improve this area because I want him to see that his passive
aggressiveness and unclearness pushes his family away from him. Since he's passive aggressive i try not to express how i feel as well, its not that
I can't express my feelings its that my dad makes it seems like when I speak up i'm disrespectful and when I do speak up its like nothings changed
with him. I feel as though my dad and I are at the stagnating stage in our relationship, I've opened up to him about many issues but he doesn't seem to

When she references I in this statement she is clearly using "I" language and she is expressing that she is opposed to this, "phrases that emphasize
ownership of your feelings, opinions, and beliefs" (McCornack, 2013, p. 207). She is expressing verbally her and her political parties beliefs and

As sad as it is my wife will be talking to me while I am doing something and she will be asking me questions and I will answer the question and will
have no idea what she just said. That is poor communication, I was hearing her but I wasn't listening to what she was saying. Many of us have been in
business meeting or presentations and there is a guy that is rambling and people have a tendency to zone boring things our and that in no way is a good
way to communicate. The next thing that I want to talk about is the unwritten parts of communication. The tone of the voice and how it varies when
saying something. For example someone can sound excited by rising their tone at the end of a sentence or by lowering the tone at the end can sound
sarcastic or rude. I use to have a friend who I could never tell if he was serious or joking about things because he was very monotone. So even when

Therefore they are always quick to the punch with their words but without even listening or processing what the other person has said. This is a hard
mountain to get over for some people and that is why I believe it is the hardest skill to obtain.
Some key examples of verbal and nonverbal communication are things such as, speaking, eye contact, hand gestures, and body language. Speaking
is the obvious example of verbal communication, but believe it or not, some people have a hard time speaking to others or figuring out when and
where they are supposed to verbally communicate. Being able to speak and get the desired message across is key to communication, without

know that you are attentive to what they are saying by giving the speaker the sense of reassure meant that what is being said is being listened to and

Language is interpreted differently throughout the world and differs for many different sociocultural backgrounds and allows individuals to express themselves. Language can be both an 'object' to be analysed and a social process through the individual's experiences and the discourse that differs for each person.
