The Senate Public Relations Committee Bill
Whereas:
The SA Senate currently does not have a structured system that communicates and
promotes: Bills, Senate minutes, events such as Town Hall, Senate Elections/future
Senate meetings to the student body, or other social media, which has immense potential
of increasing more student involvement in Student Government as well as generate new
and fresh ideas for the Senate.
Therefore, let it be proposed that:
A new committee be created to improve the Public Relations of SA Senate, in the Student
Association Bylaws, which shall read:
The Senate Public Relations Committee
1.Membership
(a) The Public Relations Vice-President shall serve as the Chairperson as well as
four other Senators shall serve on this Committee.
2. Powers
(a) Shall have the power to maintain and operate Senate’s social media outlets.
(b) Make decisions regarding Senate Public Relations.
3. Duties
(a) The Senate Public Relations Committee shall promote and advertise: Senate
minutes, bills, and social media.
(b) The Committee shall receive Senate minutes from the Legislative Secretary
and Bills passed from every meeting, which may be uploaded to the PUC
Student Government website or social media for the student body to view.
(c) Maintain and promote the Senate’s public image to the student body.
(d) Create Public Opinion polls or surveys in the events necessary to gain a
consensus regarding emerging issues on campus or potential bill ideas from
the student body.
(e) Shall create and maintain Senator photos in the campus center and
dormitories, along with Senate Bulletin boards in dormitories for input from
constituents.
