R.A. 7648 Electric Power Act of1993 Emergency Powers
PUC Constitution & Bylaws Resolution Bill (Final Version)
1. Version 2
PUC Constitution & Bylaws Resolution (AMD)
Whereas:
The PUC Constitution & Bylaws has been belatedly presented and ratified in the past and
has not been consistent in holding the precedent of being ready for the new school year.
With the current situation, the PUC Constitution & Bylaws has not been suitable and
available for the new school year, due to issues from last year’s constitutional changes,
addition, and amendments. Miscommunication and other errors have prolonged the
process of presenting an updated Constitution in order to govern the PUC SA and has
hindered the PUC Constitution & Bylaws’ organizational effectiveness. Lastly, there isn’t
a provision requiring for the ratification of the PUC Constitution & Bylaws in the
constitution.
Therefore, let it be proposed that:
A new paragraph under Article VI Senate, Section 10 Duties be created and read:
Article VI Senate, Section 10 Duties
Para. 61
The SA Executive Vice President shall present a current and updated Constitution
& Bylaws to SA Officers and the SA Senate, each year, within the first four
weeks at the beginning of the school year. A two-thirds vote by SA Senate shall
be required for the Constitution & Bylaws to be ratified and binding. When the
Constitution & Bylaws is ratified, it must be abided by until the fiscal year ends,
until all closing audit entries are made by the SA Financial Vice President.
Constitutional amendments, changes, and additions may be made, throughout the
year. However any new amendments, changes, and additions made during the
current school year do not take effect until the following school year, upon a two-
thirds SA Senate ratification. However, a constitutional change, addition, or
amendment deemed necessary may become affective immediately for the school
year, subject to a two-thirds vote of approval by SA Senate.
