If you are tired of city hustle and all you want is to
have some quiet days, surrounded by gorgeous mountain
landscapes but not isolated from civilization, the solution is
simple.
The Şirnea mountain village has been declared a tourist village
since 1960 and is the seat of Fundata commune. Situated at the foot of
the Piatra Craiului Mountains, Brașov, the village offers you the
opportunity to enjoy a small corner of heaven at the altitude of 1,400
meters.
Şirnea is known for the traditional "Fire of Sumedru", which
takes place every year on October 25th. During the festivity, the
children in the village dress up in the national port, make a big fire and
dance around it.
If you decide to stay in Şirnea, you can visit a number of sights
in the area, such as: Piatra Craiului National Park, Zărneşti Meadows,
Dâmbovicioarei Cave and Cheile, Meieciului Gorge, Bats Cave and
Vidraru Lake.
Think twice when you have a choice
between a mountain village and a
destination from abroad.
