2. BULGARIA
Lucky Invest JSC is a concessionaire of two deposits of lead and zinc ores.
The main part of the ore bodies are steeply dipping quartz-sulphide lodes,
which are characterized by small thickness and variable and often low
content of useful components.
The Company uses the smallest class mining mobile machines existing on
the market as a result of which the following has been achieved:
• High labor productivity
• Significantly improved working conditions
• Simplifying the organization of production
• Possibility of operational management as to the quality of ore loaded
Despite the use of the smallest class mining machinery in the specific
mining conditions, a significantly higher dilution rate has been reported for
the ore extracted.
For this reason Lucky Invest decided to finance the development of a mini
mobile drilling machine to suit the specific conditions of the deposits.
3. TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS
AND CHALLENGES
Overall dimensions providing minimum cross sections of ore development
headings in compliance with the PBT B-01-02-04 (Regulations on labor
safety in the development of ore and non-metalliferous deposits by
underground way).
Good ergonomic features.
Simple controls.
Work in complex mining and geological conditions.
Safe working conditions, according to the European standards.
Use of components and materials for OEM mainly from Bulgarian
manufacturers and suppliers.
A higher level of technology than existing machines in this class.
4. REALIZATION OF THE PROJECT
• March 2015 - June 2016
• 5000 design man-hours
• 3200 man-hours for the assembly of prototype
• 300 man-hours for setup and commissioning
• Engineering team of five
• The place where the job was completed is a mechanical workshop

15. RESULT
Significant reduction of ore dilution because of the opportunity to work
in a small profile which is similar to that made manually using a jack
leg rock drill.
Drilling in profile up to 3.5 by 3.5 meters.
Drilling penetration rate varying from 0.8 to 1.6 meters per minute
depend of rocks condition.
Suitable for use in ore development headings and production drilling.
Optimization of drilling tools cost.
