2. Step 1
Check equipment is in working order, ensuring the base plate is
attached to the tripod.
Step 2
Extend legs of tripod, operating from the bottom first. Once
extended, screws can be used for tightness, ensuring the tripod
is balanced and ready for appropriate use.

3. Step 3
Can extend tripod’s legs further if necessary by undoing clips and pushing further
up. Secondary wave of safety flaps become visible and when flipped secures the
balance of tripod.
4. Step 4
Loosen bolt to
release pan
handle. Screws
may be
tightened to
ensure
maximum
comfort and
ease when
panning for
smooth effect.
5. Step 5
When adjusting the
spirit level, move lever
positioned underneath
the top of tripod and
ensure bubble is
present inside the black
circle before tightening.
6. Step 6
Hold red button, then slide baseplate out of position
to remove it. In order to add the camera the
baseplate must be removed.
Step 7
Align the pins on the
baseplate with the holes
in the bottom of the
camera with the brass
pin going closest
towards the front of the
camera. Tighten the
baseplate onto the
camera using the circle
bolt at the bottom.
7. Step 8
Hold red button to then slide camera onto the tripod. Use bolt to
tighten in order to keep camera steady.
8. Step 9
When recording voxpop, make
sure interviewee is looking
towards the open space as
highlighted in the following
image.
Ensure camera is at eye-level of
the interviewee by recording at
the correct height.
Remember, when interviewing
an expert they must be
portrayed as dominant, by
looking down to the camera.
9. DO’S DON’TS
• Ensure panning handle
is tightened properly
during filming.
• Ensure all equipment
required is packed in
bag when leaving to
shoot so upon arrival
you have everything
necessary to film.
• Leave baseplate on camera
when finished.
• Not double-check all
equipment is packed away
when finished.
