affairs activities including creation of contract forms (exclusive recording agreement) and licenses. Negoti-

(physical product and digital delivery), digital media licenses, and artist agreements, leases and vendor
agreements. At end/closing of business, successfully resolved all Company legal and business affairs and
contracts, including return of intellectual property and inventory to artists.

on risk management, venue safety, indemnification, and insurance issues.

Vice President & General Counsel
Responsible for all global legal affairs of Patagonia, Inc., Lost Arrow Corporation and its 12 domestic and
foreign subsidiaries, with operations in North America, Europe, and Japan, including (acted as an officer
for all entities). Additional oversight of company’s non-profit foundation, as well as charitable activities.
Major Highlights:
• Acquisition and development of real estate for global distribution center, with lease/purchase and
future expansion options; strategy and analysis for business leaders
• Negotiation of multimillion-dollar acquisition of Lotus Designs, a leading manufacturer of personal
flotation devices.
• Marketing, advertising strategic oversight re: anti-trust, compliance, fair trade practices
• Successful resolution of multiple product liability cases, and class-action consumer matters
• Prosecution, enforcement and seizure actions to protect intellectual property rights in the U.S. and
Japan (trademarks, copyrights, design patents).
• $3M refund to Company in a customs valuation dispute in Canada regarding classification of goods
and transfer/export issues.
