PROFILE
Geeks foundation Ghana (GFG) is a youth led organization made up of, ICT technicians, School dropouts.
Street children, deprived youth, Brilliant but Needy, craftsmen: masons, carpenter, fashion designers, Hair
dressers, Auto mechanics electricians, and also the informal apprentices etc. To become a full member, GFG
requires you to just fill a form.
Geeks foundation (GFG) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in 2012 under the company’s
registration code to help address the challenges confronting the skilled labor artisans and other operators
within the sector, we also empower them through advocacy, public education and training serves the Greater
Accra, Tema, Eastern region and the Volta Regions of Ghana and has plans to expand national it is funded by
personal contribution and additional donations from individuals. It works with national level stakeholders and
has a Memorandum of Understanding with NVTI and also connects its some portion of children to take up
training and further their eduction.Also to national level services such as the National Health Insurance
Scheme (NHIS) and Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

VISION
The establishment of a peaceful, well-governed and
Economically sustainable society in Ghana and Africa.
MISSION
To promote and advance effective leadership, democratic Governance, and socio-economic development in
Ghana and Africa through advocacy, programmatic interventions, Strategic partnerships with organizations
and institutions Sharing the Foundation’s vision, and to get over 20,000 youth employed in the informal sector
by 2021.

All initiatives and engagements of GFG are guided by the
Values and principles of transparency, Scarifies, Honesty, Integrity, Unity and Team work
Objectives
Identify projects with economic potential that can generate employment for as many youth as possible.
Upgrade youth with new and innovative technologies and as well expose them to the job market.
Train and build interest in school dropouts to become artisans
Collaborate with other organizations both locally and internationally, district and municipal assemblies,
ministries and other private entities to source for funds for the youth to start up their business.
Bring freedom among all youth in the country.

STRENGHT
With two offices in the Greater Accra area (Ashaiman and Tema), GFG has eleven employees. It currently
serves over Five Hundred and Fifty (550) youth and is actively training additional youth and working to
consolidate under one organizational umbrella...
Specification of Activities-Training and Certification
GFG works with National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), to deliver training to its youth and other youth
who wish to become members from ages 17 – 35 years and to help them become certified in their field by
NVTI. GFG and NVTI have being working on this initiative for years now. The NVTI upgrading training is for
master craft people lasting for five working days for six hours each day. New youth require twelve months of
the educational training that NVTI provides to GFG members, GFG itself provides general educational training.
Currently, subjects offered are: English Language, Mathematics, Information and Communication Technology,
youth entrepreneurship development, & Project Management and relationship building. These classes are
three hours long and held three times per week.
Benefits
There will be a SSNIT contribution by all youth to help save for the future.
Protection for all in the industry where youth are needed.
To provide legal aid in times of problems.
How youth can contact each other when one needs the help of the other for a reasonable work.
Entrepreneurial training to be given youth to effectively manage existing small scale business and grow
them into beneficial industries.
To establish training centers throughout the country for all kind of artisanship training.
National Accreditation for organization: Certification of youth after training with Government
Recognized Institutions.
Training in laws pertaining to business management. Every field of the artisans’ work has laws guiding
its members which must be mastered.
Training youth with an advanced to acquire I. C. T knowledge for their personal business skills. And
train them on new technology on their filed.
All youth before and after training will be marketed on the internet.

Youth Training Assistance
GFG is providing various forms of assistance to its members. Recently, it launched a program to help
consolidate youth’ contributions to the national pension program. This is done through workshops on the
options and by assisting with registration, which results in members receiving the SSNIT identification card.
GFG provides free National Health Insurance Scheme Identification Cards for the members. Also seeks low
cost access to tools and equipments for its members and is exploring innovative tool sharing and rental
options so that members may pool their resources and lower their operating cost.
Job Assistance
To increase exposure to job and apprenticeship opportunities, GFG provides a menu of services to its
members. Job placement offerings include maintaining a list of members’ skills and matching the youth with
opportunities GFG has submits proposals to institutional firms and other private clients on behalf of its youth.
GFG have design a website that would allow potential clients to search profiles of its members. GFG is also
planning to establish a uniform system of enlargement for apprentices. The program would include both
theoretical and practical training; in a classroom and workshops with master artisans.
Youth employment programmes (GOVT. CONTRACT)
To support Government effort to reduce unemployment amongst the youth and also to keep them actively
employed so as to keep them away from the desire to move out of the country. We have sent proposals to the
various ministries in charge of the youth and employment in the country to partner them. It is our fervent
hope that with projects from the Government (MDA/MAS), NGO, and private / individual companies, majority
of our members shall be actively /gainfully employed throughout the country.
Challenges
Insufficient funds to support planned activities.
Inadequate support from the relevant ministries, the Assemblies, cooperate bodies and individuals for
program implementation.
Next Direction
To attract potential partners from within and out of the country.
To propose our concept through advertisement, training and workshops.
