3. Clinical features
1. Severe bilateral nasal obstruction with pain
2. Tenderness over bridge of nose
3. Fever with chills
4. Frontal headache
5. Red and swollen skin over nasal septum
6. Congested septal mucosa
7. Enlargement and tender of submandibular lymph node
4. Treatment
• Septal mucosa excised
• Suction (removal of pus and necrosed piece of cartilage)
• Systemic antibiotics (for atleast 10 days)
5. Complications
• Necrosis of septal cartilage
• Necrosis of septal flaps lead to septal perforation
• Meningitis
• Cavernous sinus thrombosis
