2. Fibre Optic Cabling must be a minimum of 16core multi-mode OM4
3. New cable installations should be installed and tested following the manufactures guidance,
warranty terms & conditions.
4. A manufacturers performance warranty covering a minimum of 20 years should be provided
upon completion.
5. The cabling should comply with the British Standards 6701, 50173, and 50174
6. New Cabling should comply with the latest fire rating requirements (currently stated
as Euroclass CCA S1B. D2. A2.
7. Copper cable length (permanent link) should be no more than 90 metres.
8. Fibre links between buildings should use OM4.
9. Optical fibre links between buildings should be pulled through underground ducts for
additional protection.
10. All cables must be installed by approved installers with all the relevant insurances and
