Many ways to frame and phrase this… Here, I decided to go for the larger socio-economic scope and the drivers of (national) economic prosperity, focused through this (oft-referenced) lens called “business.”
Yield and Margin… This goes with my underlying system model… Treat the failures as ‘exceptions’ to a process, in a generalized sense (population basis). The process is the entrepreneur launch/nurture system. What is the Pareto of causes (or symptoms)? What are the root causes? Were the symptoms ignored or misunderstood (or, more likely, risk-benefit analysis was wrong…bias/miscal). What could the yield have been? Also, consider the capability and ‘margin’ of the distribution quantify the “quality” of the individual members… company-specific performance can also be improved…
We are the ‘pump’ or catalyst for the process. We provide expertise to Innovation Nurseries that foster ideas into New Venture Opportunities, increasing the quantity and raising the quality of the NVOs. We establish and maintain the “Sustainable Innovation Resource Network”, an “Approved Vendor List” of partners to provide goods and services to the NVOs. We intend to develop a standard and some sort of “certification” or endorsement, probably in conjunction with existing/emerging Sustainable Systems endorsement orgs… Over time, the cycle increased the potential of the ecosystem, increasing the breadth and power of the SIRN…
