Pudukottai dt, did not have heart wood.
So they used for simple furniture, like Teak.
• Another point, when there is no heart wood,
farmer will get timber equivalent to Teak.

21st century confusion
• FSI, Forest survey of India, say, they do not
have definition of “Forest”. Survey basis?

to define “Forest”
• TOF, Trees outside Forest
• Agroforestry, Trees with crops
• Silviculture / Treeculture, many to confuse

• DGFT office did not answer, basis for RS

critically endangered, only threatened due
to illegal felling, for an RTI

– MoEFCC did not answer for an RTI
• India imports 90% of it’s wood need - Rs 36000 cr/pa
– Which trees species to replace / area ?
– MoEFCC do not study future projection, then who?
• India starves for water? Forget clean water / air
• Forest Policy, forest cover shall be 33% of land, but
remains in 24% for decades, could not increase.

• Forest should revive Endangered species, No action
• Treeculture, facilitates farmers for growing trees,
felling, value addition, to meet the growing need of
India and high value commodity for export.

– Brinng out cultivation techniques , Water need, Yield
range, Symbiotic, etc,
– Should be a proven model, not with bibiliographies
