Cross-border challenges in river management:
 Need for improvement of cross-border
cooperation/governance
 Need for cross-border adjustment of plans & measures
on climate change adaptation and water quality
improvement
 Need for cross-border financial instruments

5. Project aims
Exchange experience on these challenges,
development of action plans:
 Structural cross-border river basin comittees
 Dialogue on cross-border cooperation
 Climate change adaptive policies
 River basin wide assessment and planning
 Development and implementation of priority measures
 Information & awareness about needs and opportunities

6. Work plan
Project management: Shared Service Centre /
river basin coordinators
Phase 1: (3 years)
 Identification of good practices: Joint analysis on strategies,
plans, experiences, projects
 Development of regional priority strategies in selected river
basins
 Dissemination on regional, national and international level
Phase 2: (2 years)
 Implementation and monitoring of project results
