► Developed new counter strategy against Violent Crime and succeeded in bringing Nedbank back to
the lowest crime rate in comparison with other major banks.

the Managing Director with 20% share ownership.
► Accepted a request from Nedbank to again take up my previous position of Head of Security in
2008. Northern Security was then sold to ADT.
2005– 2006 Director Bidvest Group
► Project managed the development of an advanced Control Centre for the Bidvest Group (Magnum
Shield Security) for I.T. based CCTV monitoring of McCarthy Motor dealerships.

► Secured contract with Capitec Bank for alarm monitoring services.
► Reduced the criminal onslaught against Capitec by 90% in the first year of service, by introducing a
unique operational methodology.
2000 – 2005 Head of Security (promotion) Nedbank Group Security
Appointed as Security Operations Manager in 2000, then promoted to Head of Security in 2003.
► Implemented a new Security Model, which consisted of an integrated security delivery service with a
dynamic early-warning system based on real-time intelligence. Price Waterhouse Coopers rated this
model as the best in the financial industry (2003).
► Designed and developed an advanced Nedbank Joint Operational Control Centre.
► Achieved a substantial reduction in the levels of violent crime against Nedbank – the total losses
due to violent crime in 2004, were less than 3% of the Industry.
► Saved R9 million with regards to Security Expenditure in 2003 / 2004.
► Assisted with the design, procurement and implementation of technology solutions for branches and
ATM’s.
► Developed liaison structures with other banks, service providers and South African Police Service to
maximise and support Nedbank’s Security crime prevention strategies.
► Represented Nedbank and participated in the establishment of SABRIC – Bank Risk Intelligence

► Managed a budget of R280 million p.a. with a staff complement of 255 personnel.

transition phase in 1994.
