2. DEFENITION
โข Interleukin is a kind of cytokines
โข which plays a critical role in immunological regulation
and homeostasis
โข It is originally discovered from leukocytes.
โข It is found to be produced by a lot of cells including
macrophages, lymphocytic cells
3. INTERLEUKIN - 1
โข linked to the innate immune response
โข IL-1ฮฑ, IL-1ฮฒ, IL-18, IL-33, IL-36ฮฑ, IL-36ฮฒ, IL-36ฮณ triggers
MPKK and NF-ฮบB leading to inflammatory response
โข can excrete as co-stimulation of T helper cells,
maturation and proliferation of B cells, activation of NK
cells and is relation to inflammation.
4. INTERLEUKIN-6
โข discovered as a B-cell differentiation factor
โข Pleiotropic cytokine that regulates immune response,
acute-phase response, hematopoiesis, and inflammation
5. INTERLEUKIN-10
โข An anti-inflammatory cytokine
โข suppresses immune function by blocking the synthesis of
proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-1, IL-6, IFN-ฮณ, and
TNF-ฮฑ) in T cells, monocytes, and macrophages
6. INTERLEUKIN-12
โข IL-12 involves in the
stimulation and
maintenance of Th1
cellular immune
responses
โข Dendritic cells (DCs)
and phagocytes
produce IL-12 in
response to
pathogens during
infection
7. INTERLEUKIN 17
โข IL-17 (interleukin 17)
is secreted by a
variety of innate cells
including
macrophages,
dendritic cells (DC),
natural killer, natural
killer T
โข The IL-17 family
activates antibacterial
cytokines and
chemokines in MAPK,
NF-ฮบB and C/EBPs
pathway.
