Timed Analysis

1. 00:00-00:02- Establishing shot of a low shot revealing a
person riding on a bike, there is no music in this part, just the
sound of the bike pedaling.
00:02-00:04- Jump cut to a close up of the person on the
bikes face, where we are shown one of the members of the
group.
00:04-00:07- Jump cut to far shot of a still camera showing
Ashton riding his bike towards the camera.
00:07-00:11- Jump cut to under water, showing the title of the
song.
00:11-00:23- Jump cut to the camera showing us a garage,
where the band are setting up their instruments.
00:23-00:29- Jump cut to the singer...
00:29-00:32- Jump cut to showing the band in a car, with a girl
to each member- their girlfriends, the camera shots range
from a pan- to follow the car, then once we are in the car, the
camera is a close up of Ashton and Callums face- people from
the band, and as Ashton looks up out of the window the
camera moves up, this suggests the camera is held but on a
piece of equipment to steady it, then the camera zooms out
showing everyone in the car- 4 people are sat int he middle
part of the car- where there is mean to be 3, showing rebellion
through illegality.
00:32-00:34- Jump cut back to singer...
00:34-00:38- Jump cut to a group of youths- the band and
their girlfriends, out side what looks like an American gas
station, sitting on a kirb, laughing with each other. Shot starts
with a close up of Mikey and Luke, showing Mikey laughing
with the girl sitting next to him. Then the camera shot jump
cuts to showing the group of them sat together showing them
laughing, but also posing suggesting their photo is being
taken.
00:38-00:39- Jump cut to a close up of Mikey looking sad...
00:39-00:40- Jump cut to singer...
00:40-00:44- Jump cut back to the gas station, now the filming
is where it is suggested there was a camera taking their
photo, with the camera still, it shows everyone who was sat
down, run towards the camera, showing a simple fun side-
they aren't doing any harm, just taking photos of themselves-
forming memories. the camera shakes a little as the get closer

2. as it moves into a close up of Callums face showing how
happy he is, along with everyone else.
00:44-00:45- Jump cut to Ashton sitting near a fireplace
looking sad...
00:45-00:48- Jump cut to singer...
00:48-00:50- Jump cut to the group sat around a car, now sat
at a "look out" type place- suggesting the reason they were at
the gas station was because they were getting ready to take a
road trip- to make memories. Shots starts at a far distance,
showing most of the people sat on the floor by the car, but the
is one person laying on the bonnet, and one person standing
of the roof, with a golf club, the shot is in slow motion, showing
them moving slowly- this suggests it being a memory- they are
looking back at it. Then the shot changes to the person who is
stood on the car, but it is a low shot, only showing Luke's feet
and hand as he is placing down a gold ball, shot changes
before he swings the club,
00:50-00:53- Jump cut to singer...
00:53-00:56- Jump cut back to the car on the look out. The
shot starts with a close up of Callum, with two other girls,
showing them laughing and smiling. Shot then changes to an
extreme close up of Ashton, but then the camera zooms out.
Camera shot then changes back to show Luke on the roof
again, its a far shot so you can see him on the roof but also
Ashton laying back on the bonnet, then the camera moves
towards to car a little bit as Luke hits the golf ball.
00:56-01:04- Jump cut to the singer, shot chnages between
the different singers in the group...
01:04-01:05- Jump cut back to the gas station, showing a pan
shot, as Ashton is pushing Callum in a trolley, with everyone
else throwing things at them, showing them laughing, enjoying
themselves. Then the shot changes to two girls cheering them
on- showing the happiness, still in slow motion.
01:05-01:07- Jump cut to singer...
01:07-01:11- Jump cut back to the gas station but there's now
two trolleys. The camera shot first starts in the trolley, at a low
shot angle looking up at Luke in the trolley eating whilst Mikey
pushes him- its a go pro camera. Then the camera shot
changes to a far shot of Callum sitting in the other trolley
whilst eating a banana, as Ashton pushes him. Then the

3. camera changes to a far shot showing everyone- the people
on the side and the boys from the band, but the trolley has
fallen over, so everyone is laughing- a far shot has enabled us
to be able to see whats happening but also can that
happiness atmosphere.
01:11-01:22- Jump cut to the singer then the band with the
instruments...
01:22-01:25- Jump cut to then in a room but in the trolley ,
showing them being spun around. The first camera shot is a
close up but low shot, at level with the trolley, showing Mikey
in the trolley and luke spinning him. Then the shot changes to
a far shot, showing Luke and Mikey in the background, but in
the foreground showing two of the girls laughing with them,
sat in a trolley together. This shows the misbehaving for
entertainment side of youth.
01:25-01:27- Jump cut to singer...
01:27-01:30- Jump cut to the gas station. The camera first
shows a low shot, looking up at Mikey, raising his arm with
marshmellow, then the shot chances to an over the shoulder
shot, showing him throwing the marshmellow into Luke's
mouth, then it shows everyone cheering and laughing.
01:30-01:32- Jump cut to the singers...
01:32-01:37- Jump cut back to the look out location. The
camera shot first starts with an out of focus over the shoulder
shot, with the view in focus and Callum out of focus, but then
there's a pull focus so he's in focus. Then the camera changes
to a close up of the side of Callum's face, showing luke and
friends sat next to him. The camera shot then changes to a far
shot, showing three sat on the floor then four on the bonnet,
looking out of the distance shown before over Callum's
shoulder. Then the shot changes to a further long shot with
the group in the left third.
01:37-01:38- Jump cut to singer...
01:38-01:43- Jump cut to a swimming pool. Shot starting with
a far shot of them running down the side of the house, pan to
show them running. Then the shot changes to a long shot
showing the whole pool and showing them running into the
pool-with their clothes on and inflatables, showing the childlike
fun sideof youth. Shot the changes to under the water low
shot- showing luke jumping in the pool

4. 01:43-01:46- Jump cut to singer...
01:46-01:49- Jump cut to back by the pool, with Ashton in a
space suit, sitting down to sun bathe. The camera shot starts
at a full body shot, showing him being thrown a beach ball at
then him firing his water gun, then the shot changes to a
ground level shot- go-pro style, it looks misty from water
sprayed at it, showing Ashton sitting down, and behind him
showing everyone else playing on different things- one on a
pogo stick one of a tricycle and a scooter.
01:49-01:56- Jump cut to the singer and band playing the
music.
01:56-02:01- Jump cut to the pool- all underwater shots. The
first shot showing Callum diving into the pool towards the
camera, then the camera shot changes to a far shot showing
him doing a flip under water.
02:01-02:04- Jump cut to singer...
02:04-02:09- Jump cut to outside a garage playing games.
Shot starting at a high shot, looking down at Ashton on the
ground and two people behind him, not being able to see their
face, showing them throwing something in front of them. Shot
changes to a slight pan of half body shot of Luke with a
baseball bat and in the corner of the screen a water gun, it
pans as Luke swings the bat.
02:09-02:10- Jump cut to the singer...
02:10-02:13- Jump cut to being back in the camera, the
camera shot here is a wide lens shot, showing a type of fish
eye effect, so we are able to see everyone sitting in the car.
02:13-02:14- Jump cut to singer...
02:14-02:18- Jump cut back to the swimming pool location.
The camera here is back on a go-pro styled camera, as a type
of style vlogging their memories. It is clearly hand held, as
when the subject moves so does the camera and as it has
gotten wet, there is a misty aspect to the shot.
02:18-02:20- Jump cut to singer...
02:20-02:24- Jump cut to inside the house, showing them all
mucking about with various items, starting with a narrow depth
of field shot showing a person in the foreground (in focus)
doing a hand stand and in the background (out of focus) the
rest of the group are talking, Luke is ready to throw something
at her, the camera moves with the subject doing the

5. handstand. Then the camera changes to a close up of Mikey
and girls behind him as they are laughing.
02:24-02:25- Jump cut to singer...
02:25-02:27- Jump cut to the previous shot of them in the
sitting room of a house, with the same camera shot.
02:27-02:30- Jump cut to the singer...
02:30-02:37- Jump cut back to the pool area, the shots are
still in slow motion, showing them laughing, the camera
follows Callum as he jumps into the pool, then revealing all the
people in the pool laughing.
02:37-02:40- Jump cut to the singer...
02:40-02:43- Jump cut back to the look out as they are all
moving around getting out of the car.
02:43-02:52- Jump cut back to the singers in the garage...
02:52-02:58- Jump cut to back and forth shots of them falling
off things- showing clumsiness- starting with him falling off the
car, then from a bike into the pool, then someone else just
walking and being push into the pool, shots are all the same,
as they fall, the camera pans to follow them.
02:58-03:04- Jump cut to singer...
03:04-03:09- Jump cut to under the water shots, showing
various people jumping into the pool the swimming around,
these are low shot camera angles as it appears they are at the
bottom of the pool looking up at them.
03:09-03:12- Jump cut to the singer...
03:12-03:15- Jump cut back to being in the car, still a wide
angle fish eye effect, showing them all mucking about in the
back of the car, with Luke getting up and climbing into the
boot- the camera zooms in with him as he falls backwards.
03:15-03:18- Jump cut to the singer...
03:18-03:24- Jump cut to the car, back and forth shot of them
throwing things at each other. Then the shot changes back
into the sitting room with them all trying to handstand.
03:24-03:36- Jump cut back to the singers...
03:36-03:38- Jump cut back to the look out area, a long shot,
showing all of them at the edge of the cliff, zoom shot to Mikey
as he hits a gold ball off the cliff.
03:38-03:40- Jump cut to the singer...
03:40-03:43- Jump cut to a narrow depth of field shot at the
side of the car, with the car door in focus and the lights across

6. the city down the cliff out of focus giving it a bokeh effect- the
lights are small circles out of focus.
03:43-03:47- Jump cut to the singers...
03:47-03:50- Jump cut to various shots of them in the look out
location, starting with back of the head shot, as the camera
pans across everyone's head who is sat on the car bonnet.
Then the shot changes to a side angle shot, pan upwards, to
show everyone. Then the shot goes back to the back of their
heads, but this time at an angle so you can see Lukes face.
Then the shot changes to a narrow depth of field shot, with the
back of the car in focus showing a "my child is an honor roll
student" sign on the back of the car, then the city and the
people sat on the car out of focus
03:50-04:07- Jump cut to the singers, finishing the song.
