2. • On October 10th 2020, the world
witnessed the Beatification of a young
computer genius called Carlo Acutis.
• An Italian teenager dressed in jeans,
jacket and a pair of sneakers.
3. • He is the first millenial to be
beatified in the history of the
church.
• Venerable Carlo Acutis is
known for his example of
holiness, love of the eucharist and passion for
Information technology.
4. • Carlos was born on 3rd May 1991
in London. A few months later after his birth
his parents Antonia Salazno and Andrea Acutis
moved to Milan, Italy.
• As a young child Carlos loved to pray the
Rosary, after he received his First Holy
Communion at the age of 7 he went for mass
as often as he could and spent couple of time
before the blessed sacrament. He went for
confession weekly.
5. • At young age Carlo seemed to
have a speacial love for God even
though his parents weren’t
practicing Catholics.
• His mother said that before Carlo was born she went to mass only
for her First Communion, Confirmation and Wedding but his witness
of faith led to a deep conversion for her, because it was he who
succeeded in getting him served to mass and convincing others to
receive the communion daily.
6. • Carlos interest ranged from the
computer programming to film editing
to creating his own website called
‘The Eucharistic Miracles Of The World’
• He created this website in 2005, he started compiling the catalogue
at the age of eleven. He admired Blessed Giacomo Alberione’s
Initiatives to use the media in proclaiming the Gospel.
• He said “Eucharist is my highway to heaven”
• This is why Carlos is called
The Cyber Aposole Of The Holy
Eucharist.
7. • Carlo was known for defending
Children at school who got picked on
especially, those who were disabled.
• Carlo involved himself into charity
work and spent his own money on
helping disadvantaged people in his
local area. He also distributed sleeping
bags to the ones who had no shelter.
8. • Carlo died from Leukemia
on the 12th of October 2006 at the
age of 15 .
• He was buried at Assisi at his
request because of this love for
ST. Francis of Assisi.
9. • Carlo used to ask his parents to take him to pilgrimages, to the places
of the saints and to the sites of Eucharistic Miracles in the world , but
with his declining health prevented this from happening.
• Before Carlo died he offered his suffering to God, for the Pope and
the church.
10. Miracles of Blessed Carlos
• On October 12, 2013, Seven years after
Carlos death, a child named Mattheus
who was infected by a Congenital
Malformation.
• When it was his turn to touch the picture
Of the future Blessed, he expressed a wish
in form of a prayer.
• On the way home from the Mass, Mattheus told his mother that he
was already cured.
11. • In Christus Vivit, Pope Francis Exhortation on people he mentioned
Carlo as a role model for young people today who are often tempted
by the traps of Self – absorption, isolation and empty pleasure.
• The Pope also said that Carlo knew how to use the new
communication technology to transmit the Gospel to communicate
values and beauty.
