Supported and challenged University of Leeds staff working within their Primary Education
development project in Oman. As External Examiner attended Assessment Boards in Leeds
and made twovisits tomonitorthe effectivenessof the projectwhichmetitsspecifiedaims.
Liaised with senior teachers to enhance in service activities for teacher of English in North
WestProvince Cameroononbehalf of the BritishCouncil. Drove forwardthe decentralisation
of the English Language Teachers Association within legal constraints to ensure maximum
participation. The ELTA continued, managed by the teachers themselves.

Facilitated the rewriting of a new curriculum for PrimarySchool English,with Head teachers
inthe SolomonIslands.The syllabuswassuccessfullyimplemented aspartof the Department
of International Development funded national project.
Established on-going portfolio reviews and development activities across the Faculty of
Education and Society. Within University strategy maximised the Faculty’s independent
distance learning programmes, analysed and proposed new flexible programmes for
internationalrecruitmentandstrengthenedproposalsforinnovative degreeprogrammes and
new modes of learning.
