I am writing this letter in support of Mr. Fan Liang who is applying for a job position at your company.
Fan is expected to get his master degree in computer engineering at University of Massachusetts
Dartmouth in fall 2014. As his advisor, I believe that he is an excellent candidate for your company.
Fan is a highly intelligent and perceptive student. I knew Fan since his first year at UMass Dartmouth,
in September, 2012. He took my several courses, which I taught mainly for students majoring in Computer
Engineering. Fan has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a dedication to success. He can
come up with creative research ideas independently. He grew in learning, in character, in depth of
understanding. Because of his positive attitude, his reflective way of operating, and his devotion to the
research, Fan's questions never go unanswered, and his searches always bring her exciting new
discoveries.
Fan has taken my courses in the past semesters. While many students considered this course difficult,
Mr. Liang grasped the course material thoroughly and effectively. His attractive attitude and solid
preparation showed in his knowledgeable answers to my questions. His leading involvement in class
activities affected everyone in the class, helping create very positive teaching atmosphere. And what
impressed me most is his persistence and resolute determination. I still remembered that he never missed
the course assignments and always paid one hundred percent attention to the study. The reason why he was
not distracted by the external environment is that he was absorbed in learning and accomplishing his aim.
This put him at an advantage over others, as he was the one who never gave up but looked for the solutions
when there were some difficulties. He is a very easy-going student and always is happy to help other
students.
In short, I feel that he is a brilliant and extremely skilled individual with much energy and potential. I
