Fadia Alkhatib has over 20 years of experience in the fields of finance, health, and construction. She currently works as an assistant expert developing training materials for JICA in Palestine. Previously, she held roles managing maternal and child health projects for JICA and advising on property tax development. Alkhatib has also worked as an interior designer, research consultant, and medical laboratory technologist. She holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.

reports that are submitted to JICA.
Assisted in the development of the new valuation standards for
property tax in terms of data collection, information verification,

played a key role in drafting the terms of reference.
Assisted in the development of operation improvement plans for the
General Directorate of Property Tax Branch Offices’ Staff, including
operation assessment, human resource development, performance
monitoring, and reporting system.
Participated in developing a three-year Strategic Plan 2014-2016 for
the General Directorate of Property Tax.
Played a key role in the development of the General Directorate of
Property Tax Annual plan for the year 2014.

Maternal and Child Health and Reproductive Health in
Palestine (Phase 2), Ramallah, West Bank.
Responsible for assisting in the planning, overall
management and coordination of the project; Led,
supervised, and technically supported the implementation
of activities related to the management and utilization of
the "Mother and Child Health Handbook (MCHHB)" in
coordination with relevant Japanese experts and the
Ministry of Health, these related activities are described
as follows:
Development of the "Palestinian National Manual for the MCHHB"
which consists of effective management procedures and
comprehensive utilization of the MCHHB as a Portable Medical
Record, a Health Education tool, and a Common National tool.
Development of training modules for TOT workshops and lateral
trainings, which consisted of two versions one for the trainer and one
for the trainees.
Realization of orientation trainings targeting health care providers
from primary and secondary health care at the Ministry of Health,
local Non-Governmental Organizations and the Private sector.
Participated in the revision of health promotion materials along with
the Health Education and Promotion Department/Ministry of Health
and JICA experts.
Contributed to the production of a brochure entitled "Overview of the
MCHHB in Palestine" which consists of achievements of the MCHHB
implementation over the period of phase 1 and phase 2 of the

assisted the Japanese experts in information collection,
translation, English Arabic interpretation, submission of
annual and semiannual reports, and monitoring and
evaluation of the project.

Refugee Aid (ANERA) (USAID Micronutrient and Child

Bank. Responsible for the translation of “Guidelines for
Nutrition Labeling and Voluntary Enrichment of Foods”

the development of a “Situation Analysis Fact Report” on
Mother and Child Health and Reproductive Health
services, in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In addition to
gathering information on the Donor Community including
ongoing and planned Primary Health Care/Maternal and
Child Health Care projects/programs by conducting
interviews with related organizations and MOH
departments in addition to literature review.
May-Jun 2008 Senior Nutrition Consultant. World Vision, Ramallah,
West Bank. Responsible for the development of a
“consolidated nutrition assessment and situation analysis”
report for the West Bank and Gaza Strip; provided
technical guidance for pilot program design in nutrition
and health; offered recommendations to begin
implementation of a pilot nutrition project and assessed
the capacity of World Vision national offices.
2007-2008 Project Coordinator. Women’s Health Program,
Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS), Ramallah,
West Bank. Responsible for coordinating a project
funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
for promoting awareness and behavioral changes on
maternal and child health, reproductive health, and
women’s empowerment with special focus on the
promotion of the Palestinian “Mother and Child Health
Handbook”. As a coordinator and member of the project
technical committee contributed to:
Development of training materials for health educators.
Editing various Information Education and Communication materials
IEC (flyers and booklets) associated with the PMRS Health
Education Program.
Selection of health education and awareness materials distributed
during the project activities.

Supervision and follow up on public awareness activities which were
implemented in 24 pilot areas of Ramallah, Jericho and the Jordan

Oct-Dec 2006 Senior Consultant. HANAN (Maternal and Child Health

concept paper for a capacity building training program for

2003-2005 Technical Manager, Senior Biochemical Analysis Advisor
and Coordinator. MARAM (Health and Development
Project funded by USAID)/Academy for Educational
Development (AED), Ramallah, West Bank. National
Vitamin A Survey among Palestinian Children under 5
Years of Age: Managed the technical logistics of blood
sample collection in the West Bank and Gaza, transfer of
viable samples to Jordan, and laboratory analysis of the
samples; participated in data analysis and led the
interpretation of the data and development of the final
report. Coordinated six vitamin A advocacy workshops for
senior national and international policy and decision-
makers and program managers in the West Bank and
Gaza Strip.
Nutrition and Technical Advisor. Organized and
participated in a PROFILES workshop; responsible for
selecting technical resources and managing the logistics
for the design and conduct of the workshop.
Evaluation Co-director and Technical Advisor Co-directed
all aspects of the impact assessment of a national health
behavior and change communication (BCC) campaign.
With the other Co-director:
Designed the population-based and convenience sampling frames
Designed and supervised the translation of multiple survey
instruments addressing maternal and child health knowledge and
practices among mothers, children and health providers
Analyzed and interpreted qualitative and quantitative data

Makassed Hospital, Jerusalem. Identified the various
Thalassemia and Familial Mediterranean Fever
mutations, as well as fetal gender determination by
utilizing different Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
techniques in addition to In Situ Hybridization. Other tasks
included DNA and RNA probe preparation, amplification
of DNA fragments for sequencing, in addition to
calibration of optimal PCR conditions.
