Ports play a strategic logistical position in industry, trade and transport. Port management plays a major role in the interface between different modes of transport by sea, air, rail and land for handling the loading and moving of freight from the moment of arrival at a terminal. One small error can lead to unnecessary costs, delays of delivery and inefficiency. This session will show you how sea-side operations optimization functionalities significantly improve the efficiency and safety of ports. You will learn how to be interoperable with the surrounding stakeholder beyond port borders within an open-access model. Ports also have effects on the environment. Pollution is one of the negative effects which can be harmful to the health of citizens. Measuring air quality and water quality provides early detection of e.g. oil slicks and improves the safety for the citizens living around the port.

Editor's Notes
Firstly, through the Startup Acceleration Programme. This is an initiative with annual call to take companies to the next level.
The duration of this programme is 9 months, but it can be extended to 1 year.
It is a programme 100% personalised to the startups needs, with mentoring by specialists from different business areas and opportunities to apply their solutions on the port facilities.
To this date, 14 startups have been accelerated and some of them are currently working with us and conducting their pilot projects within the port.
