As the senior lab technician and co-owner of Absolute Sound Laboratories, Evan August Weitz repairs and restores vintage high-fidelity audio equipment. Outside of his work, technology work, Evan August Weitz is a member of Mensa International. Mensa International is a high IQ society where members can access journals, lectures, special-interest groups, surveys, debates, and research assistance. To qualify for membership, you must take an approved intelligence test and earn a score within the top 2 percent of the general population. Although Mensa administers IQ tests, potential members who have taken a different IQ exam can check with their local Mensa office to verify their exam is acceptable. Once accepted, members can participate in one of the society’s most attractive benefits: its special-interest groups (SIGS). There are approximately 200 SIGS from which to choose, covering diverse topics such as poker, breadmaking, rollerskating, Sherlock Holmes, and chocolate. The interest groups provide opportunities for lively interaction with like-minded intellectuals.
