Hermosillo is the capital city of the state of Sonora, Mexico, located 270km from the US border. It has a population of around 715,000 people and a warm desert climate with average annual temperatures of 25°C. The main economic activities are industry, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and trade. Hermosillo was formerly the temporary capital of Mexico for over five months when Venustiano Carranza established his war cabinet there in 1915.
