2. Global Warming
Global warming is the long-term warming
of the planet's overall temperature. The
excess heat in the atmosphere has
caused the average global temperature to
rise overtime, otherwise known as global
warming. Global warming has presented
another issue called climate change.
3. Causes of Global Warming
• Emission of green house gases like carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc. into
the atmosphere.
• The major source is carbon dioxide (80%).
• 20% by methane and nitrious oxide.
4. Carbon Dioxide
• a colorless, odorless gas produced by
burning carbon and organic compounds
and by respiration. It is naturally present in
air (about 0.03 percent) and is absorbed by
plants in photosynthesis.
5. Methane
• a chemical compound with the chemical
formula CH4 It is a group-14 hydride, the
simplest alkane, and the main constituent
of natural gas.
6. Nitrous Oxide
• has significant medical uses, especially in
surgery and dentistry, for its anaesthetic
and pain reducing effects.
7. Nitrous Oxide
• has significant medical uses, especially in
surgery and dentistry, for its anaesthetic
and pain reducing effects.
8. Deforestation
• is the removal of a forest or stand of trees
from land that is then converted to non-
forest use.
9. Consequences of Global Warming
• More frequent and severe weather.
• Higher temperatures are worsening many types
of disasters, including storms, heat waves, floods,
and droughts.
• Higher death rates.
• Dirtier air.
• Higher wildlife extinction rates.
• More acidic oceans.
• Higher sea levels.

11. How to reduce global warming
• Save energy at home
• Walk, cycle or take public transport
• Eat more vegetables
• Consider your travel
• Throw away less food
• Reduce, reuse, repair & recycle
• Change your home's source of energy
• Switch to an electric vehicle
