Fast track / sequential permitting
Micrel Semiconductor - San Jose
All adjoining fab areas remained operational during construction - new
fab areas became fully operational within 5 months of start date
Fast track construction involving 3-5 inter-related permits for fab
and support areas including scrubbers, HPM bunker, & chillers
Self supporting plenum hoods installed concurrent with interstitial
equipment mezzanine and K-braces required for a seismic upgrade
4000 SF class 100 vapor deposition fab (bottom) built with “just
in time” permit approvals where predictable code compliance was critical

Scaling up manufacturing in Mississippi following California pilot line installation
Stion Corporation 100 MW PV solar panel manufacturing facility
Originally designed for a San Jose CA location, MMA MMA completed architectural permit drawings within
assisted Stion’s relocation to Mississippi for production 6 weeks of receiving contract for construction phase
Construction of 276,000 SF manufacturing line in an Coordinated layout of fully automated production
existing 724,000 SF manufacturing & warehouse equipment in response to an evolving client program

Designing a contextual addition
Gordon Manor Assisted Living Facility - Redwood City
Design adds 10,750 SF to an existing18,850 SF assisted living facility while preserving the original look and feel
The design was intentionally executed to appear residential rather than institutional in response to owner’s preferences
In contrast to a diminuative street presence the layout is organized around an expansive rear courtyard (shown)
Interior circulation is anchored by a multi-purpose / great room with a vaulted ceiling topped by a pyramid skylight

and is seamlessly integrated with the existing older portions of our facility.”
