ACADEMY OF COMMUNITY EDUCATION -
ACE
Not so long ago, the back to school
season was marked by a rush to purchase
notebook paper, binders, pens and
pencils. Today, at the Academy for
Community Education, mobile devices
are part of this year’s essential school
supplies. At the Academy for
Community Education (ACE), learning
is no longer restricted to the pedagogy
used by the teacher. Interactive and
adaptive software allows students to
learn in their own style, making learning
personal and engaging. In addition, new
learning technologies provide real time
data that gives teachers the information
they need to adjust instruction to meet
the unique needs of each student.
Learning is no longer restricted to the
pace of the entire classroom of students;
students who use the tablets are able to
learn at their own pace, spending more
or less time on lessons to achieve the
same level of learning. The use of mobile
devices at ACE affords teachers the
opportunity to provide personalized
guidance and assistance. Students learn
and stay on track to graduate from high
school and become College and Career
Ready.
At ACE, every day is
Digital Learning Day!

AMIkids Miami Dade
North participated in the
Annual Service From the
Heart-Hearts for Seniors
event. They partnered with
Grey Stone Unity Health
and Rehabilitation Center
of North Miami and spent a
day with their residents.
Students spent the first
half of the day with
Grey Stone Unity
Health residents
socializing, serving
food, and the second
half of the day
gardening.
State Representative Daphne Campbell is
a huge supporter of what AMIkids Miami
Dade is doing with the youth in the
community. During the State Legislative
session in Tallahassee earlier this year,
Representative Campbell wanted to show
AMIkids Miami Dade some love by
wearing an AMIkids scarf on the Senate
floor during the legislative session.
