Avril Lavigne is known to be a singer song writer from Canada. The younger
audience imagine Avril Lavigne as a ‘Rock Princess’ and I think she is
perfectly portrayed as this in the image. In this picture Avril Lavigne is seen
to be sitting on a black leather sofa, scrunched up in ball resting on her arm
looking away from the camera. The image is seen to be quit an emotive
photo as she seems to be starring in the direction of the floor representing
loneliness and vulnerability. The location is seen to be a dark room with
gold outlined mirrors hanging on the wall. You cannot clearly visualise what
has been reflected in these mirrors, this can represent the thoughts in
Avril’s head are uncertain. Avril Lavigne is dressed in a big puffy pink
princess dress with black fish net tights and black accessories. She has quit
natural makeup on apart from her eyes, as she appears to be wearing a lot
of black eyeliner. This helps to portray her personality of a pop rock
princess.
Peter Wentz formally known for being associated in the band ‘Fall Out Boy’
is an American musician. This particular artist is known for his individual
costume choices. His image has changed form an artist linked to the known
‘emo’ look and lifestyle, to a pop rock celebrity. In this image Peter Wentz is
seen to be rocking out to music through bulky pair of head phones. The
artist is grasping the headphones that are over his head and he is pulling an
aggressive facial expression. He is dressed in a white shirt sleeve t-shirt with
a ‘car-key’ coloured v-neck vest jumper over the top. Because of the length
of both the t-shirt and jumper the artist’s tattoos are on show. Both items
of clothing are slim fitting but are very creased, enhancing his rugged look.
This is also enhanced by his long messy hairstyle. The total image
represents his quirky personality and his rock and roll lifestyle.
In this image Hayley Williams is presented with a stylish and glamorous
edge. It is unusual for this famous alternative rock musician to be dressed in
these items of clothing as she always stands out in the way in which she
dresses. Her makeup is quite subtle and her hairstyle is also rather stylish,
she has created her own twist as it is dyed orange. She is dressed in an off
white coloured leather jacket with studs following the seam of the collar.
Leather jackets remind us of danger almost as we think of Rock’N’Roll
gangs and bikers to wear this sort of clothing. Underneath this she is
wearing black bra-lit which is quit feminine specially worn with an Aztec
styled beaded skirt. In this image Hayley looks powerful and superior as she
has her arms stretched out wide and serious face with not too much
expression. The singer is also looking directly into the camera. As the
background is white it almost resembles the purity of the singer.
