My Ethics paper had a main focus on Sports Management and transitioning to coaching and learning techniques. I want to know more within the coaching field, because this is what I want to do in the future, but before jumping in I needed to know the bases first, which this paper helped me find those key platforms.
2. What I have discovered in these two articles is how to become a great coach. As I talked in
the last paper I did, I am interested in Sports Management and Administration. The focus of this
paper talks about how coaches attempt to change or transform themselves into their perceptions
of a good coach during and after a coaching course that was based on their feedback. I was
reading one of my articles, and something stood out to me. The coach as a catalyst for promoting
the positive effects of sport participation such as learning social and moral skills including
respect and fair play, also, how to cope with social differences and with winning and losing
followed by how to develop healthy habits.
In conclusion, the narratives spoke about the importance of learning and practicing to
constantly reflect. We reflect on these findings and the approach. The learning of implementing
techniques of critical reflection using a concrete model seemed to work for these coaches. At the
same time, reflective practice such as what we described is not without its own difficulties. They
engaged in confessional practices to describe how they fell short of there ideal. This gives an
opportunity for the coaches that need to not only engage in self reflection, but also in their own
behavior. Furthermore, engage in sociological work and be taught to critically reflect on the
connection between context and their own behavior.
In addition, each of these points are key to me, because they express everything that a coach
should do to become successful in their job. As a result, they found that the priority in CE has
been to help coaches to improve their communication skills, to enhance the quality of their
3. feedback and didactics, to increase their understanding of the motor learning process, to develop
various decision making styles.(Jacobs, 2014). When you want to become a good coach you
have to convey calmness and work with your athletes to become better at what they are doing. A
good coach stays calm and at the same time he stimulates them to improve everyday. A coach
engages in transformation by continually questioning and reflecting on his thoughts and
practices. Furthermore, another article analyzes the responses of hundreds of future coaches from
an introductory coaching style course regarding the appropriateness of player and coaching
behaviors. An interesting fact is coaches share their attitudes with their fellow coaching
candidates and they come prepared to defend them when opposed by different views. The role of
the coach educator is as varied as the position of coach itself. Part of this role is the examination
of future coaches’ attitudes and behaviors related to the ethics of sports. Based on the
information that I was given and my understanding of being a good coach and a leader is you
have to stay calm with your athletes and encourage them with positive feedback. (Jacobs, 2014).
My thinking and awareness has changed my profession by reading a couple of articles and
finding more information about what it takes to become a great coach. The changes that I will
make in my life and help me reach this goal is to continue reaching my dream and potential and
follow in Courtney Kupets footsteps.
