1 – For the reverse of the Cover Page, I have placed a poster for a tour that is due to happen in January. I have
noticed when looking in many issues of Kerrang that there are often advertisements in the form of tour posters
and new album artwork, so I felt that this would be a good addition to my issue.
2 – As I have said briefly in my planning, I would like to make my magazine be like it is in the style of a scrapbook
or notebook (main inspiration – Hammer Magazine). So, I have made it look like the two pages above are in a
sketchbook, I really like the ring binder look especially.
3 – I have added columns to separate my stories into sections in order to organise my content in the magazine to
make it more clear to the reader and prevent confusion.
4 – I have thought of a small punch line to go alongside my contents title. ‘We’ve Got You Covered’ is referring to
the fact my magazine is going to include exclusive and up to date news from the Rock Music Scene and this punch
line tells the reader that they are covered with all of this information.
5 – The first picture I have included on top of the main image is of Kevin Skaff from the band ‘A Day To
Remember’, as this is just a mock up, I used an image from the internet for now just to show what it would loo k
like. This photo links to one of the main stories mentioned on my cover page.
6 – Like the image of Kevin Skaff, I have included a Google found image of Parker Cannon from ‘The Story So Far’,
who have also being mentioned on my cover as a main story.
7 – Like the Kerrang Contents Page I picked out, I have included a key word from my main story along side the
page number where the story starts, so the reader knows where the main and exclusive story is located. I have
also put it in a film reel style shape in order to make it stand out more and make the page more like a scrapbook.
8 – My main image takes up quite a bit of the page so the reader can clearly see it and is more drawn to it.
9 – Despite what I said in my planning, I have just put the word ‘Co ntents’ at the top of the page to see what it
would look like in just the block letters. I quite like the look of it, but I will create another mock up but with using
the Bunting Flag idea so I can compare the two and see which one looks better to me.
10 – For the Editor’s Notes column, I have included a photo of me; this is so the reader knows what I look like and
for more of a personal touch to the magazine.
11 – Below the photo, I have included a ‘Editors Notes’ title and below this there is going to be a paragraph of text
that consists of me talking about the issue, this is to give the reader more information and also as well as the
photo, a personal touch.
12 – Following the scrapbook theme, I have experimented with a crumpled paper background, which I actually
really like the look of.
