2. The preliminary task was a way
for our group to investigate and
practice with the technology we
needed to use for our final
performance.
3. The first piece of technology we used was the
Camcorder and this was something we were
not familiar with and so it gave us the chance
to have a look at the camera and think about
thinks such as the different settings for
example ‘night mode’ and the different
aspects such as the ‘zoom’.
4. Camera angles in our horror film were something which benefited from the practice
in our preliminary task; when we were filming our preliminary task we tried to
include as many different angles as we could to find out the best way to do them to
a good standard. For example in our preliminary task there is a high angle.
Something we also used in our horror film and by doing the preliminary task it
taught us that using a tripod would be a lot smoother and so this is something we
considered when coming to filming our final horror film.

5. Editing was another aspect which was improved
and affected by the preliminary task as we were
able to look at different transaction and editing
techniques that were most suitable. For our
preliminary task we used adobe premier to edit
our film and found some interesting and
appropriate lighting techniques and
transactions. We also found from the preliminary
task editing that the program was quite difficult
to use so this was something we thought about
when editing our final horror film.
6. When filming our preliminary
task we did not think about
using a script and only worked
around the idea of what was
going to say and not having
anything set. This was
something which we felt
worked well as it was natural
but we learnt that this could
be a bit risky when filming our
final horror film so when
filming our final horror filo,
although we did not have
scripts it was a lot more
structured and planned what
we were going to say before
we started filming the scene.
7. The lighting was something which in the preliminary task we
were not so worried about but we did understand the struggle of
capturing the correct lighting for the scene. When filming the
preliminary task we had to ensure that it was light enough to be
realistic of a classroom and also to be clear and seen well by the
audience but this was something we needed to think about for
our horror film as we felt by taking away of the light, with
intention to make is scarier, the picture and scene would not be
as clear and easy to see so this was something we realised we
need to think about and gave us the opportunity to plan what
time of day etc we were going to record our film.
