Introduction to the mentor-mentee relationship
A. Mentoring is a part of ELIEMENTAL, which is an EU funded project at http://eliemental.org/.
B. The parties are involved in the relationship on a voluntary basis.
C. By joining the program the Mentor expresses the intention to share his or her business
knowledge and experience.
D. By joining the program the Mentee expresses the intention to engage in the process and
actively participate in a support and guidance-based relationship with the Mentor.
Terms of engagement and commitment
A. Engagement between Parties is undertaken for a period of one month. After this period,
both mentor and mentee will have the option to maintain the support beyond this timescale,
where both parties agree.
B. During the contact period at least 4 meetings will be initiated
C. Date and form of the meeting (in person, on-line, by phone) are for the parties agree on each
time; however, we recommend that at least the 1st
meeting should be face to face.
D. Mentoring meetings are initiated by the Mentee.
E. During the first meeting, the parties will need to identify one or two core aims and
achievable objectives where the mentor can be of best help – progress with these will be
reviewed at each point of engagement.
F. At the end of each meeting the mentee will prepare a short summary and submit it to the
Mentor and the project contact link person responsible for the overall relationship
Confidentiality
A. The Parties are committed to confidentiality on subjects and areas discussed during the
meeting.
B. The confidentiality rule will exist during and after the relationship.
The involvement
A. The Parties are committed to engage fully in mentoring relationship.
B. The frequency and intensity of the mentor-mentee relationship is the subject of agreement
between the parties.
