The world is changing faster now than ever before in history – we are teaching subjects to prepare graduates, for jobs that don’t yet exist.
So what do you need / will you need to have a long and fulfilling career spanning 50 years – YES 50 years
You need entrepreneurial skills and attributes – even you are planning to have an employed career –
So UoG is investing in enterprise skills because:
To improve the way we teach Enterprise which will increase the employability of our graduates: What we mean by Enterprise in this context is a set of attributes, skills and behaviours which, based on both our own and global research, employers want and lead to long term career satisfaction;
To improve the readiness and success of students who become self-employed after graduation, for example choosing freelance, coaching or consultancy careers, and thereby creating a USP for UoG.

After studying teaching standards and techniques, Lord Young is understood to have concluded that lessons are irrelevant for tens of thousands of children because they do not apply to today’s Britain.
In his Enterprise for All report, which is due to be published on Thursday, the peer will set out several changes that should be made at every stage of education, from primary school to university.

2 elements of leadership mindset which we believe is vital to reach the highest levels of effectiveness as a leader.
In this exercise, ask a friend or colleague who knows you well to score you out of five
in each of the 12 elements of the leadership mindset in relation to your current job. It is important that somebody else scores you as they will give you an independent and honest answer on how they see you.
The key here is not to necessarily get the highest score, but to get the most honest
answers.
