Why is it important?
Outreach is the activity of providing services to any population that might not otherwise have access to those
services. A key component of outreach is that the group providing it is not stationary, but mobile; in other
words, it involves meeting someone in need of an outreach service at the location where they are.
Outreach is an effort by individuals in an organization or group to connect its ideas or practices to the efforts of
other organizations, groups, specific audiences or the general public. Unlike marketing, outreach does not
inherently revolve around a product or strategies to increase market share.
An outreach program aims to help, uplift, and support those who are deprived of certain services and rights. It
involves giving learning, social planning, health support, and other projects for their welfare. As usual, a
program must be organized to use resources and aid to fulfill a goal.
A community outreach worker connects people in need with the right community organizations and resources.
Social outreach initiative, implements several large-scale projects for human service to support individual
growth, revitalize the human spirit, rebuild communities, and restore the environment.
