Profile
I am a lively and hardworking Teach First ‘15 Ambassador, having graduated from The University of Nottingham with a BA
(hons) degree in English from the University of Nottingham. I am currently studying an MA in Educational Leadership. My
interests stem further than English and I am a keen performer, having directed and participated in award winning theatre
productions through both University and dramatic societies in the local community. An innovative and organised thinker, I
was voted Head Boy of my school, was made English Enrichment Lead in my current role after just one year and given
the leadership role of Head of Year 8 English as a result of my drive for success. I have led a team of Year 8 English
teachers to develop a well balanced and challenging curriculum, as well as sharing outstanding practice and constructing
assessment and revision materials for students across the school. I have led training sessions with staff at school and in
the Teach First programme and I frequently arrange meetings with parents and members of the local community to
discuss student progress. I am now looking to broaden my experiences working with a team of people with one common
vision and develop my leadership skills further in a challenging and engaging working environment.

Skills
The Leadership Development program has developed my skills in leadership and teamwork. I have run meetings and led
a team to develop an extensive, evidence driven curriculum for Year 8 English. I have contributed to the extensive
curriculum design for both Key Stage 3 and 4, developing a medium term plan for lower ability students. The graduate
scheme also developed my reflective practice and self-coaching skills, allowing me to innovate with a solution driven
approach to difficult and challenging barriers; I have designed and implemented a department wide reward system. I have
participated in the construction and development of new, school wide policy on gender equality. My MA in Educational
Leadership has developed my research and evaluation skills in the design of new policy. I have organized school wide
events and community engagement opportunities, as well as trips and visits off site to workshops and competitions.
