This presentation discusses two language learning websites, The Mixxer and Livemocha, and how they can be incorporated in language learning curricula. There is also a discussion of the caution one needs when approaching new language learning websites.

10. Teaching with Mixxer Groups
Groups are primarily for teachers. They allow teachers to
organize their students and keep track of all of their blog posts.
To use The Mixxer as a teacher, sign up then email bryantt@dickinson.edu
requesting teacher permissions. They just need something to verify you're a teacher.

11. Livemocha.com
Provides structured courses, tutor connections
Has blog section for writing with peer feedback
options
Give feedback to other users to earn Mochapoints /
Tokens to purchase additional content (Gold Key
opens all content for one price – ¥2,000 in May 2013)
Work through courses to progress in an orderly
manner or choose specific lessons to focus on your
weak areas
