The Eden Area Career Pathways Consortium works to link education and
employment in high-demand industry sectors through the development of career
pathways and high-quality work-based learning partnerships with Eden Area
schools and our local Chambers of Commerce.
What isa careerpathway?
A career pathway is a sequence of classes organized around an industry-sector.
The industry theme is woven into lessons taught by teachers with input from
working professionals, and reinforced by work-based learning activities with
employers.
What arework-based learning activities?
Work-based learning activities involve direct interactions with industry and
community professionals that provide high school students with hands-on
experiences.

Businesses benefit by developing a home-grown workforce, who understand and

Students strengthen academic and job skills as they improve their ability to think
critically and problem solve. School becomes more relevant for youth. The local
