1. AllianceTM On-site Leadership Teams
and Motivational Environments
Unparalleled on-site support
Great programs, curriculum, and staff can only go so far to
improve achievement if students are not surrounded by an
environment that encourages them to perform to their full
potential. The EdisonLearning Alliance™ difference is its
end-to-end program that boasts unparalleled on-site support
and a culture of empowerment.
Neighbors invested in your success
Alliance is the only K-12 solution that combines a research-based
design and time-tested tools with a dedicated local
support team. The Alliance Achievement Team has one
mission – to serve the students, administrators and
teachers in the communities in which its members live and
work. Staying local allows the Alliance Achievement Teams
to better understand the schools and their communities
and dedicate 100 percent of their time to address their
particular needs.
An innovative organizational foundation
Your on-site Alliance Achievement Team works with school
leaders and staff to put in place a system of distributed lead-ership
that includes a highly effective leadership team as well
as a school organization and schedule that creates
learning communities – “schools within the school” – that
foster collaboration among teachers, build relationships
between students and teachers, and ensure that students
receive the support they need. Schools may either put in
place EdisonLearning’s House and Academy structure, or the
Alliance Achievement Team will work with you to optimize your
own learning community structure utilizing best practices from
the EdisonLearning model.
Using this unique approach, EdisonLearning helps Alliance
partners achieve an enormously motivational atmosphere that:
• facilitates personalized learning and support for students
• improves communication
• fosters relationships between teachers, students,
and parents
Enhancing the learning environment
Learning also requires a setting in which students feel safe
and are focused on learning. Alliance provides schools with
a rich array of resources from EdisonLearning’s Student
Management Handbook, implementing initiatives that set high
expectations, reminding students of expected behavior, and
providing incentives to reward good conduct. In addition, the
Alliance Achievement Team works together with teachers and
administrators to analyze student behavior data and address
areas of concern before they become real problems. The
end result is an environment in which students feel safe
and secure, are empowered to shape the quality of their
experience, recognize and develop their unique personal
strengths, and strive for and attain high levels of success.
Accountability
EdisonLearning Alliance is fully accountable for driving
achievement for our partners. We put this in our contracts
– if we don’t reach the achievement gains that we agree to,
you can terminate the relationship. We believe in complete
transparency, that’s why we publish the scores from all of our
schools each year in our Annual Reports and analyze them as
part of our ongoing innovation and improvement effort.
Meeting your accountability requirements
As part of your standard Alliance partnership, our
Achievement Team will work with you to develop
