Geoffrey Chaucer was an English poet and astronomer in the Middle Ages best known for his work The Canterbury Tales, considered one of the most important works of English literature. The Canterbury Tales is a collection of stories told by pilgrims on a journey to Canterbury Cathedral. It explores themes of courtly love, corruption in the church, and the importance of fellowship through genres including romance and bawdy fabliaux tales.
