This is an introduction to a story of human sustainability. We can do better than this. Our culture must better reflect our values and our aspirations rather than mainly our greed.
2. A Story of the narrow passage to a
sustainable future - where humans
can continue flourishing
3. There is a path to human sustainability. This
path, however, because of greed and short-sightedness, has
led us into a very narrow passage. We must pass through, to
create a better future. However, we can’t fit as long as we
hold onto egos bloated by popular
culture, religion, science, technology, politics and economics –
and all of the notions with which we distract ourselves. We too
often use these abstract ideas to help us rationalize our
instinctive actions, hierarchies and emotional judgments, not
to help us behave rationally.
4. Ultimately, all that will pass through to our sustainable future is
our primate self, the human ape with our incredible curiosity
and compassion. As primates, we can open our ancient eyes
and see what is important and we can learn how to create
sustainable cultures and lifestyles that foster good will and
human resilience.
The sustainable passageway is in front of us, but it is quickly
getting smaller, and the elements are turning against us. We
don’t have the time to find an entirely new path. We must let
go of the fantasies of human godliness and perfectibility in
order to pass.
5. Hold on tight. It is time to let go of the past
and to find a better future. Perhaps we will
rediscover what is best in our selves through
this adventure.

Internet. A larger “Divine Primates” overview presentation is coming.
