This document summarizes a presentation on examining the impact of team dynamics on academic and professional performance. It discusses:
- A mixed-methods study examining quantitative data on peer evaluations and qualitative data on student perceptions of team projects.
- Three major themes emerged from the qualitative data: communications, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students saw improving communication and collaboration as important.
- Recommendations included designing projects to develop critical thinking and implementing learning team charters to improve engagement and project management skills.
- Future research could explore how challenging projects incorporating higher-order thinking impact student perceptions of team-based learning.
