The first time I heard monkey brain!
I covertly wondered, what is that?
But I dared not ask for a point of clarification.
Obviously, the person who uttered it is enlightened.
I did not want to appear ignorant.
Instead, I made a promise to self,
Find the meaning of monkey brain.
I whispered, ever so subtle, within my heart, thanks for sharing your pearls.
I then set out to discover the monkey mind.
I figured embracing this unknown would lead to discovery anew, afresh!
How to begin was the question?
I vaguely remembered her saying, a person with a monkey brain cannot elevate.
Logically, I knew this was not about climbing.
Monkeys seek food mounting trees.
Interestingly, the monkey mind should not have been such a mystery.
After all, for years, prior to this conversation, I started cultivating Tao.
Hmm!
Perplexed.
So was I.
In the meantime, I maintained my Tao studies,
Aspiring to the individual’s highest ideal.

At Chong De Temple, I learned.
During the white sun era, the ideal community is our ultimate aim.
You see.
In the previous era, Tao was transmitted only to the king, queen, and his court.
Today, any person of moral character can receive Tao.
For instance, I can introduce a person, seeking truth, to receive Tao.
My ultimate quest is the End; that is,
Man living in coincidence with bats, monkey, and snake.
Verily, culture does it.
I mean national culture teaches it.
What am-I saying?
That which I learned from Ayitian Culture.
Confucius made this point centuries ago.
Alexis, at the First Congress of Black Artists & Writers, called it confluence of cultures.
Get it?
The monkey mind cannot.
Hence there is nothing new.
No originality
No innovation.
Pa menm (No level).

It is thus that, I look at Ayiti, they claim the poorest country, I grasp Abundance.
With my mind, rather creativity, I make her Rich.
Indeed, the manner, I finish each story makes me unique.
That which I went to see I return to tell.
