This Request for Qualifications is intended to bring to the haute couture market a unique selection of garments, including but not limited to hijabs, dresses, suits, and accessories.

1. CALL TO MODISTE/SEAMSTRESS: Request for Qualifications
33Fusion, LLC, working in collaboration with Development+ Art, requests qualifications from
modiste/seamstress for its modest wear that will be sold online and at 100 CambridgeSide Place
Cambridge, MA 02141. This Request for Qualification is intended to bring to the haute couture market a
unique selection of garments, including but not limited to hijabs, dresses, suits, and accessories.

Eligibility
This modiste/seamstress commission is open to all professional seamstresses, or a team thereof, capable
of perfectly sewing, executing sequin designs, embroidery designs, and alterations. Modiste/seamstress
must possess extensive knowledge of the art of dressmaking and tailoring. Priority will be given to
modiste/seamstress who are not currently working with any other company, and possess the cultural
competency to serve, and meet the need of Urban Muslim and Black wearers. The ideal
modiste/seamstress must have the knowledge and experience of haute couture sewing, modest clothing,
and Islamic lifestyle. All applicants must be 18 years old or older.
Project Objectives
This upcoming collection and accessory will reflect the lifestyle of the Meek, as inheritors of the earth,
who embody the modest wear tradition. Samareign©’s commitment to equity, generate earned-income for
local modiste & seamstress, contribute to neighborhood redevelopment, encourage “No-waste”, and
personal responsibility to leave the earth better for the next generation.

2. Budget
The proposed budget is commensurate with the experience of a modiste/seamstress. It is intended to cover
the expenses associated with, but not limited to, the design, labor, materials, tools, contracted services,
operations, meetings, taxes, insurance, and modifications to existing or new clothing.

• Modiste/seamstress Statement (1 page maximum)
• Up to 10 clearly labeled JPEG images of relevant past work formatted as follows:
o 300 dpi image resolution
o Maximum file size per image – 1 MB
o Name each image: last name, first name, image number, and jpg
• A corresponding, numbered, annotated image list with title, media, dimensions, locations, brief
description, date of the work, and project partners, if applicable
• Optional: Additional support material, including press clippings or other relevant information on
past projects (1 PDF file maximum):
o Electronic submission only

Legal Agreement
By submitting an application, the modiste/seamstress assures that all copyright holders have consented to
the submission and use of images for use by 33Fusion, LLC. This includes use of images in following
forms: multimedia, print or digital publications, presentations, or online archive. 33Fusion, LLC reserves
the right to alter any aspect of the selection process or overall project in any way for its own convenience
at any time. This Request for Qualifications does not constitute either an expressed or implied contract
and these provisions are subject to change.
