WELCOME
Good Morning, I am Nagarajan from INDIA doing material handling
equipment manufacturing, supplying and exporting, I always used to dream
something innovative way to develop concepts and ideas in my field of
engineering
So for I have designed various components for the cranes, For example
gearboxes, Electrical wire rope Hoists, electrical safety circuits and accessories.
Among these, my Drum rope guide design, Cross pulling prevention
Mechanisms, hypocycloid limit switches are very famously accepted in my
colleagues organizations
This time I have developed Double drum auxiliary EOT crane crab with mono
hook, which is very innovative idea for compact design. Normally Auxiliary
crabs are designed and work independently. Each hoist will be provided with
separate hooks and electrical control panels
When Multiple hoists are combined, we can save manufacturing cost as well as
operational cost also. At the same time new features could be possible
Technically it was so challenge me for synchronizing robe cable balance, to
overcome this setbacks I designed special self adjusting equalizer pulley
assembly. Please go through rest of the presentations and give
your valuable opinions, please share if you like this
Thanks

The basic and simplest idea behind this micro headroom jib crane design is ,
keeping substantial and weighty components like Motor,Gearbox,Drum
assembly and breaks etc on rear side, it seems logically simple , As usual the
main motor operating Drum and reliving cables to hoist operation is fine, But
when we design, we found the Cross travel is not synchronizing with the main
hoist cable reliving, what happening, cable is loosened or tightened, so load
going down while Cross travel operation is required
This is a 3 stage helical gearbox with a planetary gear attached in final stage. Helical Gear box could be 35:1 ratio to 120: 1 Ration possible for minimum 25Kw to 5 Kw power rating while final stage is 3.3 Ratio, totally 115:1 to 375:1ratio gearbox is possible. The planetary gear RIM gear should be attached in to the drum for final torque delivery. Total Gearbox Center Distance is 550mm

proposed to a customer, who long time has requested, Since they are operating
cargo goods transportation business, they have very tough time to load or
unload heavy parcels from the container lorry. Inside the container , headroom
clearance will be less than 10 feet, so any normal type Crane equipments cannot
handle this type of operations efficiently. Every time they would hire mobile
crane vechile to load/unload their goods, it is time consuming and costly too
I developed this idea and proposed them, by the way of implementing MICRO
HEAD ROOM hoist, All mechanical parts like motor, Gearbox, Drum, Guides

would extrude in to the container. It seems sounds and innovative, we are
waiting foe the clearance from their management to go ahead to produce.

Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Technically it was so challenge me for synchronizing robe cable balance, to
overcome this setbacks I designed special self adjusting equalizer pulley
assembly. Please go through rest of the presentations and give
your valuable opinions, please share if you like this
Thanks

SECTION 1 Basic idea
Picture showing how the How two hoist are linked together
Here, the main hoist which has connected with 20HP motor with Gearbox has
been mounted on top of the crab. While the secondary hoist (5 ton) is places
under the crab suspension basket. So it will save space for the crab and more
cross travel span is possible.
5. iii
SECTION 2 how it works
Strip out picture shows how the both drums are places with separate motors with
gearboxes
Since both drums are double grooved, two different length ropes are
connected with self length adjustable tilting pulley. Left groove of DrumA
rope is looped to Right Groove of DrumB through Common tilting
pulley. A separate section will explain more brief about this pulley
6. iv
SECTION 3 Ropes and Bottom Block Configuration
A close look of the Rope and equalizer pulley
The bottom block has 4 sleeves to connect 4X8 ways rope configuration
two ropes from DrumA passes through bottom block outer sleeves to
equalizer pulleys and coming back to bottom block inner sleeves and
connecting to DrumB
The lifting Speed Will be 8/1of the drum RPM while both drums are
rotating on same speed, will vary subject to single motor running,
reciprocal rotation and VFD controlled operation
7. v
SECTION 4 how the self tilting equalizer works
Picture shows how the equalizer block designed
The Equalizer pulley block has been designed with two sleeves fitted in
zigzag position. Since the ropes from the drums are may vary in length ( in
due course), it will tilt accordingly to balance the rope. so the bottom
block center of gravity will be balanced. It is allowable up to 25mm length
variation among rope lengths
The equalizer pulley block has fitted with limit switch to control
maximum uplift allowable to user

SECTION 5 Self aligned CT Wheels block
Suspension CT wheel magazine assembly
In case of low headroom hoisting necessary, Double wheel CT
with interlink connection is advisable. Through Chain sprocket or
Direct gear drive. The total assembly may be attached to main
fabrication body by suspension spring method. Next photo shows
how it is fastened
9. vii
The picture shown how the magazine is assembled in to the main framework
The Square block of the suspension Ct wheel assembly is inserted
in to the main fabrication cavity bay. The screw rod from the
magazine assembly, fastened on top of the crab frame. The
spring tension is maintained from the main body to Ct magazine
as required. Usually 2-3 mm is sufficient.
When the crab is seated on the rail, all 4 sets of wheels get contact
with rail wheel evenly. If any rail alignment is out of range, the
wheels will automatically adjust to get contact with rail
10. viii
SECTION 6 power transmission (Motor and Gearbox)
Picture shows how the motor, Breaks, Gearbox and Drums are connected
The main crab is connected with 20HP 6phole asynchronous AC motor
And described as Crane duty, CD40% by the OEM manual
Hydraulic disc break is fitted in between the motor shaft and Gearbox
Pinion input. It is selected as per the torque of the described motor
Heavy duty 500CC crane duty Gearbox, made with Alloy carbon materials
gears and pinion, profile grounded for noiseless operation. The final stage
gear is directed coupled with DrumA
11. ix
SECTION 6 Unit Coolant and Heat transformers
Picture shows unit cooling arrangements
The gear box has forced oil coolant facility fitted, apart from this facility, a
manual cooling fan also fitted, which has been configured with PTC thermistors
, if Gearbox,Motor and Breaks exceed 60 Degree Celsius, the manual cooling
fan will start automatically and run until the temperature reduced.
The drum bearing unit has load shell in built, if exceed the load it will trigger
OVERLOAD RELAY in the main control panel to stop any uplift operation
Atmosphere temperature also would start the manual cooling mechanisms

SECTION 7 Drums and Rope Guides
Picture shows Drum with Rope Guide
We have developed our proprietary type rope guide, which has proven very
successful in industry. Unlike conventional method, this has been designed as
rolling type. Since no rubbing parts are presents, the life expectance is more.
And moreover Installation of the rope guide also very easy. It can be fitted on
any drums and rope diameter. The rollers are guided in the grooves of the drum
while rotating. The rope will be released or retracted accordingly.
The rollers are made from En24 material and soft nature. A spring has been
provided for tensioning the guide as well as keeps the rolled rope from loosing

SECTION 8 Electrical Accessories
Electrical Control panel has 3 phase 415V AC accessories. Unless
otherwise specified. Signal Voltage normally 110VAC /24VDC as per the
customer requirement. Box made up of metel sheet and Powder coated
for rust proof. Fir special application we can provide flameproof panel
also. MCB, Single Phase preventer, VFD, Contactors, Overload relays,
Ammeters, Voltmeters, Transformers all are from reputed manufacturers
and quality components we using
Pendent Switch 4+1,6+1,8+1 and Dual, Joystick style, Radio remote
are available as per the customer specifications.

SECTION 9 End Carriage (Long travel)
The end Carriage is simple design with two Collar bearings attached, doing this
model will much helpful for servicing in future. Inside the wheel journal
bearings are given for local radial load
End Carriage Driving Units may be worm, Planetary, or Bevel helical gearboxes.
We have an R&D works for Alpha start / regenerative braking gearboxes for
End carriages. I will update soon

SECTION 10 (Variable Speeds without VFD
The main goal of the double drum mono hook block design is providing
customers with variable micro and positioning speed in the hoist. To
accomplish this idea this crab has two motor, drums and gearboxes but common
mono hook block
Motor of DrumA and DrumB may drive on differential speeds and velocity to
enable the load to move maximum 8 different types of motions and speed
