6. Equipment Network
The Municipality of Tábua has a diversified set of sports equipment, with the aim of providing citizens with the generalization of physical activity, as an essential tool for
improving physical condition, quality of life and health.
Encouraging the integration of physical activity into daily living habits, as well as the adoption of active lifestyles, involves the constant improvement of conditions for the
development of projects to encourage regular physical activity, as well as hosting large national events and international organizations.
The Municipal Sport Equipment Network was built in a sustainable way, being constituted by 7 municipal infrastructures that aim to respond to the needs of the
population, namely:
- Municipal Center of March and Race;
- Municipal Pools;
- Municipal Stadium;
- Municipal Gymnasium;
- Board Multipurpose Pavilion
- Municipal Sports Hall of Candosa;
- Municipal Sports Hall of Midões.
Citizens, clubs, associations and other private entities may access the sports equipment network through the Occasional Free Practice and Regular Practice, defined by
sports season.
7. The Municipal Center of Run and Walk of Tábua, inaugurated on December 8, 2013, intends to invigorate the practice of the walking and running, in the county
of Tábua, creating for this purpose a space where specialized technicians make the physical evaluation and prescription of physical exercise according to the
goals and capacities of each practitioner.
This physical practice, with accompaniment by specialized technicians, will focus on the health promotion component and healthy physical habits and practices,
as well as a social component through activities that promote the contact between the center's practitioners, the general population and also practitioners from
other centers.
8. The Municipal Swimming Pools of Tábua were inaugurated on February 28, 1997, in order to respond to the needs and expectations of the population,
regarding the provision of sports venues.
Due to its technical characteristics, it is considered a recreational and formative sports facility, suitable essentially for recreation activities, initiation and training
in aquatic activities. It can be used in the context of the informal activities of free use and through a varied set of activities with technical orientation.
9. The Municipal Stadium of Tábua is an infrastructure dedicated to the realization of sporting events at the highest level while allowing the development of
activities in the leisure, recreation, training and competition area, being a privileged space to achieve the objectives for which it was designed.
This infrastructure, inaugurated on December 8, 2001, was designed mainly for soccer practice and aims to respond to one of the main needs felt by the
citizens in terms of sport. In fact, the practice of football has gained considerable importance at the level of society, not only by the number of practitioners
involved but also by the number of spectators it drags, which is why it has a seating capacity of 3500 seats for the public.
10. The Municipal Gymnasium of Tábua, inaugurated the 13 of October of 2013, made an important contribution for the sport development of this municipality.
Its purpose is to provide its users with a set of physical activities in order to improve their physical and mental condition, as well as to promote the quality of
life of citizens, helping to prevent any diseases or health problems inherent to the sedentary lifestyle.
11. The Multipurpose Pavilion of Tábua, inaugurated on June 16, 2009, is a municipal building that is designed to hold various events, namely, sports activities,
industrial fairs, commercial, performing shows and other events of interest to the region .
The Multipurpose Pavilion of Tábua is a privileged place for trade shows, fairs and concerts, and can also be used as a large hall for conferences, congresses,
exhibition centers and even banquets. In addition, this space allows the practice of a wide variety of sports, namely: Handball, Basketball, Volleyball, Futsal,
Badminton, Tennis, Gymnastics, among others.
The polyvalence of this pavilion is essential for the region, and has the great advantage that all these events can be assembled and disassembled in very short
periods of time, thus allowing a very diversified use in the space occupation.

13. Inaugurated on August 13, 1999, the Municipal Sports Halls of Candosa and Midões are two municipal equipments capable of a multiplicity of uses of a
sporting, playful and competitive nature, destined to the whole population, regardless of their age, state or category partner-cultural.
These infrastructures are dedicated to the provision not only of sporting activities and well-being, but also for the accomplishment of occasional events of a
playful and cultural scope, among others, always compatible with the characteristic of the space.
14. The elaboration of Municipal Physical Activity Promotion Programs, adjusted to Tábua reality and whose strategic intervention plans translate into
an increase in the practice of physical activity in everyday life, should be based on the close and consistent collaboration between public and
private agents and such as the conjunction of the guidelines of the "National Physical Activity Plan".
The Municipality of Tábua being aware that the sedentary lifestyle increases morbidity and mortality and reduces the quality and the life time,
proceeded to the implementation of Municipal Programs of Promotion of the Physical Activity in order to intervene and implement basic measures
that, in the medium and long-term, effectively combat this problem and decrease the percentage of the sedentary population.
The implementation of these programs, whose main objective is to help people to adopt healthy lifestyles, is based on the European guidelines for
Physical Activity, and in view of the reality of the various areas of action mentioned in the National Physical Activity Plan, namely In SPORTS,
HEALTH, TRANSPORT / URBANISM / ENVIRONMENT / SAFETY, LABOR and SOCIAL SECURITY, also involving the recommendations of the
area of action EDUCATION, within the scope of the Program of promotion of healthy living habits and physical activity in Education (Physical
Education - School) and the Sports Physical Activity Program (CEA - Primary school).

- Contribute to the promotion of a policy of Sport for All, promoting and
encouraging its regular practice by the entire population;
- To facilitate the access of the "Senior" population to the practice of
physical and sporting activities, pedestrian walks, meetings, among others;
- To promote a greater dynamics in the associations, making profitable the
available resources in favor of the community and the service of Sport.
16. The Municipality of Tábua intends to invest in the development of an eclectic sport culture and permanent dynamics, stimulates the organization of national
and international sports events, based on the economic and demographic reality, as the objective of enhancing the sporting offer, as well as placing Tábua in
new sports events and adjusting to new sports trends.
Monetization and full utilization of the network of municipal sports equipment, namely the Multipurpose Pavilion and the Municipal Stadium, and the
recognition of the results they present, the people who work in their daily life to allow others to practice sports, as well as Commitment and dedication of the
various sports agents in pursuing the incentive to practice sports are other areas of investment.
